[vc_row][vc_column][grandium_about_two section_id= »about-grid » about_two_item= »%5B%7B%22label%22%3A%22About%20the%20Castle%22%2C%22heading%22%3A%22A%20sense%20of%20Italy%20in%20Clisson%22%2C%22desc%22%3A%22%3Cp%3EThe%20Bertrand-Geslin%20family%2C%20friends%20of%20Lemot%20(see%20the%20history%20of%20Clisson)%2C%20are%20redeveloping%20the%20whole%20estate%20in%20several%20stages.%20From%201800%2C%20around%20a%20trapezoidal%20courtyard%2C%20outbuildings%20and%20a%20monumental%20slate-covered%20tufa%20porch%20were%20built.%20This%20complex%20was%20built%20in%20the%20neoclassical%20style%20of%20the%20time.%5CnThe%20exterior%20fittings%20precede%20the%20construction%20of%20the%20dwelling.%20In%201807%2C%20Bertrand-Geslin%20had%20the%20park%20planted%20with%20rare%20species%2C%20native%20trees%20and%20boxwood.%20In%20the%20middle%20of%20the%20park%2C%20it%20opens%20a%20perspective%20on%20the%20Ch%C3%A2teau%20de%20Clisson%2C%20a%20perspective%20that%20still%20exists%20today.%5Cn%5CnTo%20the%20west%20and%20east%20stand%20two%20single-storey%20buildings.%20The%20one%20on%20the%20west%2C%20dating%20from%201820%2C%20has%20a%20row%20of%20six%20oculus%20(circular%20niches%20surrounded%20by%20briquettes)%20on%20its%20fa%C3%A7ade%2C%20housing%20busts%20of%20famous%20men%3A%20Olivier%20de%20Clisson%2C%20Cond%C3%A9%2C%20Duquesne%2C%20Jean%20Bart%2C%20Bayard%20and%20Duguesclin.%20This%20is%20the%20famous%20Gallery%20of%20the%20Illustrious.%20This%20stone%20iconography%20evokes%2C%20in%20many%20ways%2C%20the%20statues%20of%20the%20Nantes%20Stock%20Exchange%20by%20the%20sculptor%20Debay%20p%C3%A8re.%20Also%2C%20without%20precise%20writings%2C%20the%20creation%20of%20the%20busts%20of%20the%20Illustrious%20is%20attributed%20to%20Debay%20Sr.%5Cn%5CnThe%20main%20dwelling%2C%20an%20Italian-style%20villa%2C%20dating%20from%201830%2F35%20is%20built%20in%20a%20style%20known%20as%20%5C%22Clissonnaise%5C%22%20(see%20history%20of%20Clisson%20and%20the%20Wars%20of%20the%20Vend%C3%A9e).%20Exceptional%20fact%20of%20this%20style%2C%20it%20is%20the%20main%20dwelling%20and%20not%20the%20outbuildings%20that%20borrows%20the%20major%20features%20of%20rustic%20Italian-style%20architecture%3A%20Genoese%20cornice%20fittings%2C%20chimney%20stumps%2C%20window%20frames%20with%20wide%20bands%2C%20oculus…The%20architects%20remained%20unknown%2C%20but%20it%20is%20legitimate%20to%20assume%20that%20Bertrand-Geslin%2C%20because%20of%20his%20position%20as%20mayor%20of%20Nantes%2C%20was%20in%20contact%20with%20the%20most%20famous%20architects%20of%20the%20time%2C%20such%20as%20Mathurin%20Crucy.%3C%2Fp%3E%5Cn%22%7D%2C%7B%22label%22%3A%22About%20the%20castle%22%2C%22heading%22%3A%22Since%20always%3A%20Vines!%22%2C%22desc%22%3A%22%3Cp%3EFor%20nearly%20seven%20centuries%2C%20vines%20have%20been%20cultivated%20at%20l’Oiselini%C3%A8re.%20Since%201335%2C%20people%20have%20been%20talking%20about%20vines.%20Of%20course%2C%20at%20the%20time%2C%20they%20were%20not%20used%20to%20make%20wine%20but%20alcohol.%20They%20were%20called%20%5C%22chauffe%5C%22%20wines.%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%5Cn%5CnThe%20first%20Muscadet%20vines%20appeared%20in%20the%20south%20of%20Nantes%20in%201635%20and%20it%20was%20at%20l’Oiselini%C3%A8re%20that%20they%20were%20planted.%20A%20parchment%2C%20deposited%20in%20the%20Departmental%20Archives%20attests%20to%20this.%20It%20reads%20as%20follows%3A%20Jean%20Goulet%20de%20la%20Fosse%20de%20Nantes%2C%20leases%20to%20several%20private%20individuals%20in%20the%20parish%20of%20Gorges%2C%20a%20piece%20of%2078%20boissel%C3%A9es%20called%20%5C%22Grands%20G%C3%A2ts%5C%22%2C%20depending%20on%20the%20land%20of%20the%20Oiselini%C3%A8re%2C%20to%20plant%20it%20with%20white%20Muscadet%20vines%5C%22.%20These%20plots%20are%20always%20the%20same.%20The%20property%20has%20remained%20in%20one%20piece.%20All%20the%20vines%20are%20grouped%20around%20the%20Ch%C3%A2teau.%5Cn%5CnThey%20are%20south-west%20facing%20and%20dominate%20the%20right%20bank%20of%20the%20S%C3%A8vre%20Nantaise%20river.%20This%20plateau%20is%20made%20up%20of%20a%20bedrock%20known%20as%20%5C%22gabbro%5C%22.%20The%20gabbro%20is%20a%20rock%20which%2C%20unlike%20basalt%2C%20has%20undergone%20slow%20cooling%20allowing%20crystallisation%20to%20take%20place%2C%20hence%20the%20presence%20of%20crystals.%20Its%20grainy%20structure%20is%20green%2Fblack%20and%20very%20dense%2C%20known%20as%20plutonic.%20This%20exceptional%20soil%2C%20the%20sunny%20exposure%20and%20the%20constant%20ventilation%20of%20the%20vines%20give%20rise%20to%20particularly%20aromatic%20and%20fine%20wines.%3C%2Fp%3E%22%7D%5D »][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][grandium_features section_id= »features-section » label= »Our services » heading= »Discover our domain » description= »By stopping at l’Oiselinière, we will help you discover our historic vineyard and our wines of excellence.
